The parcel is at the end of a development; the flood zone encroaches onto the property as it is bordered on three-sides by a wash. While this provides seclusion, it is also poses construction challenges for a traditional slab on grade approach. The elevated floor via a pier foundation allows us to set our finish floor to capture the views and avoid flooding.
The views from the property are diverse…a saguaro farm on the ridgeline of a mountainous golf course to the north, mature cottonwood trees and high grasses on a wash to the west, a mountain peak to the south, and a rock formation and saguaro to the east. The design mindfully takes into account each of the views.
